Happy Birthday To Me?
I'm writing this post on my phone. The image above is of my frozen PC, which died 4 days ago. I keep trying to reboot it, hoping magic will occur, and that's how I was able to capture the exact time the clock struck my birthday. (It's still reading 12:00, by the way.)
I've tried every remedy Google recommended--- booting into safe mode and typing various commands, all to no avail. I've narrowed it down to the fact that the computer's fan is fried. I was wondering why it was suddenly so quiet! Nice, except for the non-working PC.
One takes for granted all the tasks that require a computer to accomplish. Yes, I can pay my bills on my phone, but I can't maintain a record of my transactions. I can answer emails if I keep it short, since typing with one finger is annoying and time consuming. I can't even imagine how some writers type out a whole manuscript on their phones. That's just nuts.
The good (and bad) news is, my new PC is supposed to be delivered on Thursday. Bad, because I can't afford that expense: good because well...obviously.
I didn't want to let my birthday slip by, though, without acknowledging it. I'd intended to make Running From Herself free for today, but that plan was foiled. I'm not even sure how to sign into my KDP account without relying on a bookmark. I'll offer it free soon and post a note here. You wouldn't want to miss out on the hot novel of the year! 😀
Anyway, happy birthday to me! I admit, I've had better.
