New Day, New Name
When I started this blog, I had no idea what to call it, so I found one of those name generators online that asked a couple of questions, then spat out a few suggestions. Admittedly, I didn't put a lot of thought into it, because I didn't know if I would even continue (thus the non-dedicated domain). "The Michelleable" sounded okay ~ it included my name, after all, and it was better than anything I could think up in the five minutes I spent thinking about it.
Now, after all this time and lots and lots of marketing failure, I decided a change was called for, and what better title than "The Failed Author"? I believe in putting one's expertise to good use.
And who knows? This new name could potentially get a few clicks. Who doesn't want to read about someone else's failure, after all? It's comforting, in a way. You mean there are people worse off than me?
You've no doubt noticed that I changed the layout as well. Thus, if anyone wants to only read relevant posts, as opposed to those with me whining about my stupendous failures, well, they can simply pick and choose. Win-win! I still get to whine, but no one has to read it unless they want to.
Being a visual person (maybe that's why all my books read like screenplays) I'm loving my new layout. I don't know why I never changed it until now. I could have gone with the hackneyed "library" banner image, but damn, I needed something actually attractive to look at. If we want to be picky, we can say it's a library ceiling.
So, browse around. Skip the whining posts if you like, but you never know when a choice nugget might be buried inside.
Meanwhile, I'm gonna sit back and admire my new site.
