How My (Lazy) Day is Going
I had two more chapter samples to add to my AuthorsDen, so I created PDF's for both Inn Dreams and Shadow Song, and since I hadn't reread those books since I published them, I have to say, I'm an awesome writer! Lies and Love, in particular, flows very nicely.
Unfortunately, in creating my Shadow Song snippet, I realized I'd made a typo. And I'd shared that book with reviewers! Damn! (I typed "call" instead of "called.) Such a dumb mistake. So I set aside my AuthorsDen project and fixed the manuscript in KindleCreate, uploaded it, then realized I'd uploaded the wrong version. I originally had a whole long boring passage about the guy who built the amusement park's original ferris wheel, which I later realized was not only unnecessary, but tedious and pointless. Somehow in the KindleCreate version I'd left that part in. Thus, I had to start over and create a whole new project, adding the boring elements like my other books (and their links and blurbs) and my bio and reviews, etc. There's nothing worse than starting over. Once the wrong version went live, I re-uploaded the right one. And I never would have known about my typo had I not been intent on creating a sample chapter.
Speaking of AuthorsDen, my profile has 31 views. Admittedly, a few of them are mine, since I needed to make sure everything looked okay. Still no review volunteers, but at least I know the site does get some traffic, and I have to accept that Running From Herself isn't for everyone.
I have set up a TikTok account, but barely managed to create my profile. I started doing some searches, then grew bored with the whole thing and clicked out. I don't know if this is for me at all. I'm not ready to give up, but I still don't know how to create imaginative videos that don't feature me. I've seen some nice samples; I just wish I knew how to recreate them. I'm not in love with the learning curve, but maybe it'll all become obvious at some point.
I've still got a couple of unrealized ideas, so I'll keep plugging away. At least I'm taking baby steps.
