FINAL Sales Stats

In closing for business 😏 I thought I would do a final sales tally from my recent promotions. Hopefully by sharing, my fellow authors can get an inkling of which book promotion sites perform well and which do not ("well" in my case is relative).

First came my spur of the moment "99 Cents on the Ninth" promo with AuthorsXP. This was offered at a low, low price of $10.00. Two sales.  

Monday was my long anticipated ENT Book of the Day feature ($60.00), as well as a concurrent BookRaid spot (20 cents per click). Sold: 13 units. I can't know for sure, but I'm assuming all 13 resulted from my ENT promotion. (I did get 28 clicks from BookRaid.)

Fussy Librarian was Tuesday ($22.00). 7 units sold.

Bargain Booksy - Wednesday ($30.00) Sold 3 units.

That equals 25 copies of my book sold at its reduced price of 99 cents.

(No Kindle Unlimited page reads resulted.) 

In all, I spent $127.60.  

Including a couple of earlier stragglers, my royalties this month are $8.75. What a deal! 

While it's possible that a handful of sales might still show up since not every person reads their promo newsletter the first day, any royalty increase will be negligible. Still, I won't revert back to my book's normal price until Sunday, because I guess one more 99-cent sale is better than no additional sales.

My sales rank did bump up to #182 in Contemporary American Fiction, though to be honest, unless a book populates the first results screen, #182 could just as well be #182,000.

I'll save my novel's post mortem for another day, but I'm frankly relieved to be done. You know what they say about closure.

On the bright side, I think all the marketing sites have washed their hands of me. My email inbox has been eerily silent. They've intuited that they won't be wringing any more money from me. At least I managed to support small businesses, even though I didn't end up supporting myself.
